Sony has made an official announcement that sequels Bad Boys III and IV are in the works. It’s been 12 years since the release of Bad Boys II, which was directed by Michael Bay. Bay headed the first two Bad Boys films, but no director has been officially confirmed yet for the upcoming sequels. Joe Carnahan (director of Smokin’ Aces, The Grey and Narc) has reportedly joined the team to write the script for both films. Most importantly, we hope Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be repeating their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. Bad Boys III is scheduled for a February 17, 2017 release date, while Bad Boys IV is set for July 3, 2019.
